The Tacoma Trauma Conference Planning Committee is composed of a group of multidisciplinary trauma service providers, including prehospital, emergency/critical care, rehabilitative services, and training/education representation. The conference, founded in 2006, was built upon the concept of offering education in trauma related care to EMS providers, nurses, and physicians in a single forum. The objective was to make local and practical application of current trauma care trends and practices. The first annual conference was held on October 16, 2007 with more than 300 in attendance. The Tacoma Trauma Conference Planning Committee has retained most of its founding members, who continue to organize this event with the original objectives in mind.
